    Job Description

Imagine being an employee-owner of a company guided by engaged and empowered team members like yourself. Where a culture of respect, flexibility, and accountability aren't just ideals - they're our foundation, and diverse backgrounds and perspectives are valued as drivers of innovation and growth. Join us, as together, we are Building a Better World for All of Us.

    You belong at SEH

We are currently searching for a talented Civil Engineer IV to join and grow with our West Region team This position officially reports through our Denver office but will be a remote position with primary focus on Colorado's West Mountain Region such as (but not limited to) Frisco, Silverthorne, Keystone, Summit County, and Eagle County. Preference will be given to candidates with current residency or A/E/C project experience in any West Mountain town in Colorado.

Your options as a civil engineer are endless at SEH. You'll engineer better communities -- complete streets, safer sidewalks, more sustainable utilities, and trails and parks. Others specialize in large-scale projects, like flood control facilities, dams, landfills, harbors/marinas, structural retaining walls and larger geotechnical projects. Regardless of the project, you'll have your hands in the mix through all phases of a project: planning, pre-design, design, contract documentation, bidding and construction. As people walk, drive, bike or commute through a community or across a landscape, your expertise is positively impacting their daily lives.

    Why our employee-owners love SEH:

    • "I was on vacation last week and had zero concerns that my colleagues would help out with anything that came into my inbox" – GIS Analyst
    • "What company has a CEO who cares enough to seek out one-on-one conversations ranging from 'How are you?' to 'What do you think would help the company?' SEH, that's who. " – Civil Engineering Technician
    • "Having the feeling that my voice matters and believing that SEH truly cares about the employees is so satisfying" – Sr Financial Analyst
    • "It feels good having colleagues and supervisors that provide support and resources for growth and learning" – Civil Engineer
    • "This is the first company I've worked for with a true entrepreneurial spirit." – Sr Mechanical Engineer

    Why you'll love SEH:

    • Collaborate on amazing projects of varying size and complexity that positively impact communities
    • Being 100% employee-owned means we all share in the company's success
    • Career development through continued education, licensure/certification, skills, and technical training
    • Work arrangements that promote work/life balance
    • Flexible holidays enable individuals to tailor their festivities
    • Paid Family Leave provides time to care for loved ones, whether family by birth or family by choice

    This Opportunity:

SEH, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our team, focusing on projects in the picturesque and challenging environments of Colorado's West Mountain Region such as (but not limited to) Frisco, Silverthorne, Keystone, Summit County, and Eagle County. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing various types of infrastructure projects and be adept at building strong professional relationships with local government officials. This role requires a thorough understanding of the unique dynamics and challenges faced by Colorado mountain communities, ensuring that our engineering solutions meet their unique needs. Accordingly, preference will be given to candidates with current residency or A/E/C work experience specifically located in the West Mountain region of Colorado.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • 100% business development activities to start as you build a client portfolio, transitioning to a balanced role between business development and project management as your client base expands.
    • Cultivate strong relationships by understanding the unique community challenges of Colorado's Mountain Towns and effectively leveraging SEH solutions to secure new projects.
    • Oversee infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality deliverables, adherence to timelines, and compliance with budgets and regulations.
    • Develop and strengthen relationships with local government officials, stakeholders, and community members in mountain towns like Frisco, Silverthorne, Keystone, Eagle County and Summit County (just to name a few).
    • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and planners to devise innovative infrastructure solutions suited for mountain environments.
    • Facilitate communication between SEH and local government agencies to maintain transparency and alignment throughout project lifecycles.
    • Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and updates to local government bodies and stakeholders.
    • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Stay updated on regulations affecting infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance in all planning and execution phases.
    • Coordinate with the Business Development team and technical staff to foster new clients and projects while promoting professional development within the team.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Colorado.
    • At least 5 years of project management experience in the infrastructure sector, with a focus on local government projects and a proven ability to manage projects successfully in mountainous terrains.
    • Strong understanding of the political, funding, and operational structures of local governments in Colorado's West Mountain towns.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish trust with diverse stakeholders, along with experience in preparing and managing proposals, budgets, schedules, and contracts.
    • Recent A/E/C project experience in Colorado's West Mountain region, leveraging existing contacts for business development, and a strong desire to meet in-person with new clients to build rapport and secure new projects for SEH.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
    • Master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
    • Current resident of Colorado's West Mountain Region such as (but not limited to) Frisco, Keystone, Silverthorne, Summit County, and Eagle County.
    • Preference for candidates with recent or current employment in a related local government position (county/city engineer, Public Works Director, etc.) within a Colorado West Mountain community.
