Collins Aerospace's Integrated Strategic Solutions Engineering (ISSE) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutionssupporting Integrated Mission Systems.

    Our Principal Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive,and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success.

    The candidate will work closely with fellow Principal and Sr Principalengineers, focused on defining and support our software architecture for a large program. This position will support shaping the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces. This position is located onsite in Richardson, TX.

    What YOU will do:

  • YOU will work with a Sr Principal Software engineerdefining, enhancing, and supporting the software architecture used in a Mission Critical System program.
  • YOU will interact with cross functional team and stakeholders in a program.
  • YOU will interact with the execution software teams providing guidance on architecture matter.
  • YOU will mentor junior and senior engineers/interns.

    • Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

    • Qualifications you must have:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience on design of distributed Software and software architecture for Missions Critical Systems.
  • 7+ years of experience in Java, C++, or Python.

    • Skills we value:

  • Active U.S. DoD security clearance.
  • Experience with GRA (Government Reference Architecture).
  • Experience with Design and integration of Mission Systems.
  • Experience with OMS (Open Mission System).
  • Experience with CI/CD and DSOPs.
  • Experience with use cases definition, requirements analysis and requirements decomposition.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts using Cameo, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with VMWare virtualization infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators.
