    Chief engineer will supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance staff. They will also conduct project inspections, inspect and monitor work by staff, outside vendors and contractors for quality, completeness, and for conformance to specifications and standards. Applicants must have effective written and oral communication skills. Must have effective leadership and organizational skills. Ability to read and create blueprints, and control multiple projects. Strong working knowledge in all areas as described in department job descriptions. They must maintain a professional relationship with department staff and general property staff. Must be able to lift bulky, heavy objects (min 40lbs) and climb stairs and ladders. Associate benefits include paid time off and 401K.

    Duties to include, but not limited to :

    + Monitors all property maintenance and upkeep. Ensures that required documentation is complete.

    + Order and control purchase of required parts and supplies while demonstrating effective budget management.

    + Conducts effective staff scheduling, payroll work-up and personnel management.

    + Stays abreast of all federal, state and local government requirements relating to facility maintenance operation, permits and licensing.

    + Maintains effective equipment and room preventative maintenance programs.

    + Reviews, researches and solicits for value related to service contracts on annual or as needed basis.

    + Coordinates and monitors property security and contract services.

    + Co-chairs Safety Committee with Human Resources Director and responsible for property-wide fire safety, related equipment and training.

    + Maintains effective key control program.

    + Consistently inspects property to determine maintenance needs.

    + Responsible for development of the department's annual budget; monitor and report variances against plan; keep track of labor costs and related expenses.

    + Follow up on maintenance repairs and coordinate with Engineering & Maintenance department repair needs to ensure hotel service quality standards are met.

    + Serve as member of Executive Committee/Management Team, Manager on Duty (when required) and work with other management personnel in establishing and implementing hotel service standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency.

    + Customarily and regularly directs the work of at least two or more other full-time employees or their equivalent.

    + Has the authority to hire or fire other departmental employees.

    + This is a working position and hours must be flexible to meet the demands of the business. That includes weekends, nights, holidays etc.
