Position Qualification

Position Summary

This Gross Anatomy faculty position is located at the Health Science Education Complex (HSEC) on the University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK) Campus in Kearney, Nebraska.

The gross anatomy lab is state-of-the-art and the HSEC has extensive clinical simulation facilities.

This role works collaboratively with other College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP) and College of Medicine (COM) faculty on both the Kearney and Omaha campuses.

In collaboration with other faculty, this role ensures the gross anatomy laboratory is a functional, safe, and properly equipped learning environment that meets all accreditation standards.

This role is responsible for coordinating the exchange of donor bodies and preparing the donors for use in classes.

Teaching responsibilities include instruction in anatomy courses taught across the programs in the CAHP.

This role requires a willingness and comfort with teaching anatomy at different depths and in innovative ways to serve the needs of the various professional programs in the CAHP.

Classes are held in person for students at the HSEC. Classes are held via synchronous, fully interactive A/V technology for students at the UNMC Omaha Campus.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Anatomy.

Thorough knowledge of gross anatomy, basic neuroanatomy, basic embryology, and cross-sectional anatomy experience is required.

Supplemental Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in the allied health professions, have experience as a laboratory director, and will hold or be actively pursuing a terminal academic degree.
