    Job Summary

    The Chief of Staff is responsible for providing support of the Chief Executive and managerial oversight of the Administrative Assistants housed in the 1st floor Admin suite.

    CEO
    Job Specific Responsibilities
    Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:


    • Serve as the Executive Assistant to the
      CEO; Provide comprehensive operational support, schedule travel, maintain calendar, and assist in planning for events and
      CEO presentations.
    Represent the
    CEO office (and UMC) as needed re:
    CEO communication:
    oSocial Media participation
    oContinuity of presentations
    oExcellence of presentation quality
    oExternal constituents, civic leaders, donors, Board of Managers and all employees


    • Provide leadership and management of staff to 1st floor C-suite Administrative Assistants which may include but not limited to, staffing, training, coaching, performance management, O3s and employee engagement – to ensure an effective culture / working environment for C-suite VPs.
    • Provide overall direction and coordination of day-to-day operations regarding Administrative Assistants. Lead staff meetings, to ensure proper flow of information from Leadership.
    • Collaborate with multiple VPs to provide feedback and performance evaluation for their assigned administrative assistant.
    • Participate in budget planning for 1st floor C-suite Administrative Assistant program.
    Education and Experience


    • Master's degree (MBA or MPA preferred)
    • +5 years of experience in a leadership role (healthcare preferred)
    Skills and Abilities


    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, leading people, processes, staff development
    • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications including proficiency in Power Point
    • Ability to create and design quality presentations using advanced graphics
    • Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to create content that represents the
      CEO effectively
    Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships

    This position will interact daily executive level leaders, executive administrative assistants, and other departmental leaders throughout the UMC hospital network.


    Physical Capabilities
    This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, often looking at a computer. Typing, visual and audio acuity is required continuously. Must be able to speak in front of small to medium size audiences.

    Environmental Working Conditions
    The position is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily varying temperature changes.
