    Research Finance Analyst


    The Research Finance Analyst uses advanced administrative skills to manage the financial and post-award components of research, awards, and transactions related to contract and grant management.

    This role involves working on proposals and awards of diverse scope where analysis of data requires a thorough understanding of complex regulations. The analyst completes and approves transactions for signature by a manager or other authorized institutional official.

    The analyst works on complex proposals and awards that may involve multiple investigators and/or multiple sub-awards. They guide less experienced staff and typically manage grants/contracts requiring task budgets, option years, multiple investigators, and multiple sub-awards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage financial and post-award components of research, awards, and transactions
    • Work on complex proposals and awards involving multiple investigators and/or sub-awards
    • Complete and approve transactions for signature by a manager or authorized official
    • Guide less experienced staff in their roles

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related area
    • 3+ years of experience/training in financial management
    • Understanding of general fund accounting, purchasing, and budgeting concepts
    • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal, and reporting principles
    • Excellent computer skills and facility with using MS Excel (sorting, pivot tables, filtering, basic formulas)
