    Job Description:

    NREL's Hydrogen Production, Power, & Storage Systems Group is looking for a skilled technician to assist in constructing, integrating, and maintaining hydrogen technologies. This role involves hands-on technical support for fluid, electrical, controls, and mechanical systems, helping to demonstrate the use of hydrogen with renewable energy sources.

    Duties Include:

    • Work well independently and in a team, interacting professionally with colleagues.
    • Document actions for safety and communication purposes.
    • Prioritize safety in a research environment and follow safety procedures.
    • Operate in various weather conditions and handle compressed gas systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with hoisting, rigging, and understanding hazards of working with voltages.
    • Demonstrated ability to support diverse customers and operate equipment like forklifts and aerial lifts.
    • Hands-on experience with fabrication and assembly of custom equipment.

    Qualifications:

    • Level III: High School Diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of experience or an Associate's Degree with 5+ years of experience.
    • Level II: High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience or an Associate's Degree with 2+ years of experience.
    • Educational requirements must be met before the employment start date.

    Salary Range:

    Research Technician III: $55,400 - $91,400 annually.

    Research Technician II: $49,100 - $78,600 annually.
