    Description

    A highly respected healthcare system in Suffolk, Virginia is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to provide locum coverage.

    Job Description

    The ideal candidate will work in an inpatient adult psychiatric facility, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm.

    Weekend call requires the provider to be on duty from Friday at 4pm through Monday at 7:59am.

    Familiarity with involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, pharmacotherapy, and restraint application is essential for this role.

    A current Active VA license and clean malpractice record are required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Treating patients with anxiety, affective, ADD/ADHD, personality, eating, developmental, and psychotic disorders
    • Administering pharmacotherapy and applying restraints as needed
    • Providing care that includes seclusion therapy and involuntary commitments when necessary

    Requirements

    • Board Certification in Psychiatry
    • Active VA medical license
    • Clean malpractice record
