- Conduct in-depth research on the implications of market, economic, and political developments in major African economies such as Nigeria and South Africa
- Lead research collaborations between the Africa practice and corporate teams on topics including energy, climate policy, geo-technology, and critical minerals
- Shape the practice's views on pan-African affairs, particularly relations with critical partners such as the US, China, and the EU
- Publish short- and long-form research pieces featuring clear, forward looking calls
- Regularly brief clients on developments in sectors including finance, energy, telecommunications, and retail
- Manage special research projects commissioned by clients
- Have 2-4 years of experience on Africa and other corporate sectors
- An advanced degree in political science, economics, or a related discipline is strongly preferred
- An understanding of financial markets and public finance is strongly preferred
- On-the-ground experience in Africa is preferred
- French proficiency is a bonus
- Quantitative analysis/programming skills are a bonus
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- A collaborative and team-oriented spirit
- Excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills

Position overview: Associate, Africa, Washington DC
We are seeking an Associate or Analyst that will contribute research on political and economic developments across the region, with a particular focus on Nigeria, South Africa, and regional trends pertaining to markets, the energy transition, and digital & payments infrastructure.
