    Healing Care Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced rehab veterinarian to join a dynamic veterinary team near the heart of Detroit, Michigan. We are located in a special area where you'll find a vibrant city with a rich history and exciting opportunities. Our clinic is dedicated to providing compassionate care to pets and their owners, and we are seeking a veterinarian that is skilled in rehabilitation to help us start our next chapter.

    We have a 6,200 sq. foot building with plenty of space for us to grow into as our practice grows. We have a dedicated rehab area off our hospital space for our rehab team. We have a heated and cooled in ground pool specifically designed for pets, we have a treadmill, massage table, and rubber flooring throughout. We are looking for a specialist that is interested in helping us get our rehab center up and running.

    Position Overview: As a veterinarian at our clinic in Detroit, you'll have the opportunity to utilize your medical expertise and passion for animal welfare to provide exceptional care to a diverse range of pets. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of veterinary professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment. The rehabilitation team will be part time while the program is in it's infancy, with the expectation of working in our general practice until the rehabilitation center is running at full capacity after which you will be fulltime in the rehab center.

    Responsibilities:

    Perform comprehensive physical examinations on pets to assess their health status. Diagnose and treat medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses in pets. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for each patient, considering their individual needs and the preferences of their owners. Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and other advanced surgeries as needed. Provide preventative care, including vaccinations, parasite control, and dental care. Educate pet owners on proper nutrition, grooming, and general wellness practices to promote the overall health and well-being of their pets. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with other veterinary professionals and support staff to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.

    Qualifications:

    Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school. Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Michigan. Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions in pets. Strong surgical skills, with experience performing routine spay/neuter procedures and other surgical interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and communicate with pet owners from diverse backgrounds. Compassion and empathy for both pets and their owners, with a commitment to delivering high-quality and compassionate care. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when necessary. Willingness to embrace and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
