    Job Title: Janitorial Manager

    Overview

    The Janitorial Manager will oversee the recruitment, management, and performance of our Janitorial team. This role requires a strong background in janitorial supervision, with experience managing a union workforce.


    Responsibilities

    • Manage the janitorial workforce within a union setting, ensuring compliance with labor laws and employment regulations.
    • Collaborate with department managers and HR to assess temporary staffing requirements based on project demands, seasonal fluctuations, or workload variations.
    • Develop and implement a workforce plan to meet temporary staffing needs effectively and efficiently.
    • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and/or HR to source and recruit qualified temporary candidates.
    • Develop an onboarding process to familiarize temporary employees with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
    • Create a positive and engaging work environment for temporary employees, addressing concerns, promoting teamwork, and recognizing outstanding performance.
    • Provide training sessions to equip temporary staff with necessary skills to perform their job duties effectively.
    • Set clear performance expectations and goals for temporary employees, providing regular feedback and coaching.
    • Monitor performance and address any issues promptly.
    • Coordinate schedules and shifts to ensure adequate coverage and efficient resource utilization.
    • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain effective communication channels with temporary employees, department managers, and stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • 2-3+ years' experience managing a union workforce.
    • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
    • Previous experience in onboarding and training new hires.
    • Familiarity with labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance considerations related to employees.
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and creation of charts and graphs.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Analytical mindset, leveraging data for decision-making.
