    Description

    Primary Purpose:

    Under the direction of an attorney carry out specialized legal research and writing assignments.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct legal research on assigned points of procedural and substantive law.
    • Draft written discovery, motions, briefs, prepare arguments and develop litigation strategies.
    • Represent SDG&E in depositions and court hearings under the supervision of the Managing Attorney.
    • Interview company and external witnesses and prepare witnesses to testify at deposition under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney.
    • Assist the Managing Attorney on all aspects of litigation from the onset until settlement or verdict.
    • Use computerized data bases in the execution of legal research assignments.
    • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

    Qualifications

    Hybrid Schedule:

    • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
    • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree From a recognized college or university.
    • JD (Juris Doctor) Must have satisfactorily completed at least two years in an ABA credited law school.
    • 0-3 Experience as an Attorney.
    • Proficient in Lexis and Westlaw.
