Position Information

Job Title Utility I - Groundskeeper Status Full Time FTE 1 Classification Title Support Personnel Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the Utility I - Groundskeeper is responsible for performing semi-skilled work involving all buildings, yards and grounds, machinery, equipment, furniture and vehicles.

This includes working with snow plows, commercial lawn mowers, skid steers, or other excavation types of equipment.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Michigan Driver's License and College approved driving record.
Proven experience or aptitude in operation of snow plows, commercial lawn mowers, skid steers, or other excavation types of equipment.
Education, training, and /or experience in landscape maintenance.
Proven record of dependability, reliability, and honesty.
Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
Ability to communicate and work well with others.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 100 lbs. occasionally and pass the Schoolcraft College pre-employment physical examination.

Writing Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

The employee is occasionally required to work in high, precarious places (frequent ladder/aerial lift use), around toxic or caustic chemicals, in outdoor weather conditions and with the risk of electrical shock.
