POSITIONSUMMARY:
The AV & IT Infrastructure Engineer's primary responsibility is tocompetently support the technology needs and requests of the College ofMedicine (COM).
The AV & IT Infrastructure Engineer will troubleshootand resolve technical problems associated with the design and operations oftechnology deployed within the COM.
This will include existing hardware,software applications, people and new technology solutions needed to make theCOM technology environment a leading-edge space and user friendly for students,faculty and staff.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support directly to departments and users of technologyresources within the College of Medicine (COM). Requires exceptional customerservice in person, via phone, and utilizing remote tools as appropriate.
Responsible for engineering work ofvarious types in the design or re-design, installation, operation, ormaintenance of endpoint, AV and network technology across the COM.Works with university partners,particularly CTS, OCT and others, to determine technology design andimplementation needs for the COM.
Subsequently utilizes appropriate internaland external resources to meet those needs in an efficient cost-consciousmanner.Provides Level 1-2 IT incidentsupport for the College of Osteopathic Medicine classrooms, SIM Hospital, administrativeand other operations.
Responds, records, and communicatespertinent technical information via the incident management system and respondsto system alerts for multiple hardware/software issues for the COM.
Maintainsasset information and documentation for the COM's endpoint and computingsystemsServes as representative of the COMon internal college, university and community wide groups, committees et al.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree inComputer Science, Communication, Engineering, Business, Education, IndustrialDesign, or Fine Arts from an accredited institution and 3-5 years work relatedexperience.
Extensivecustomer-facing desktop service support in both Apple and Windows platforms.Experience deploying Windows and Apple computers in a managedenterprise environment utilizing services such as Microsoft Endpoint Management,JAMF, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and utilizing an Active Directoryobject-managed environment.
Experience with IP address management, and desktop-relatednetwork configurations and topologies.Experience with managed printer and print server technologies.
Experience with operations and configurations of Virtualtechnologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.Experience with a Mobile device management platform.
Experience with desktop security / PII software such asSophos and Spirion. Performing theappropriate file and security remediations produced by the software managementportals.
Experience with cloud-based technologies such as Azure, AzureLabs, Microsoft Cloud Management gateway, and Hosted JAMF Pro.
Experience with network systems and AV.
Preferred qualifications:
Above noted Bachelor's degree in Communication,Computer Science, Business or Industrial Design from an accredited institution.
Five years of extensivecustomer-facing desktop service support in both Apple and Windows platformspreferred.
Dell Certified Technician:
Certificate needed to repair university owned Dell machines and keep it underlifecycle warranty. Preferred upon hire and must obtain within 1 year of hire.
Apple ACMT Certificate:
Certification needed to repairuniversity owned apple machines to keep them under warranty during theirplanned lifecycle. Preferred upon hire and must obtain within 1 year of hire.
Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions.

The AV & ITInfrastructure Engineer role is a position that has a primary role of endpointand infrastructure support to the College of Medicine end-user community.
Thisposition requires the individual to have good communication skills, and beflexible when working with different stakeholder groups within and outside thecollege.
Must be customerfocused and assimilate the needs of the end user into all the operations andadministrative systems that they are involved in.
Must beknowledgeable of the end user's needs and equally knowledgeable of theadministration and deployment technologies to meet and exceed theirexpectations.
Must be able tonavigate various degrees of systems administration responsibility.All system testing and development is done ina virtual and test environment, requiring the decisions and skill set of asystems administrator.
This workrequires various types of server builds and configurations to establish scopeand project impact. Must be able toreview technical documentation, knowledge base data, and other sources togenerate solution scenarios for solving technology issues.This role oftenfaces multiple solutions and must be able to choose the solution that bestintegrates into the University's overall technology environment.
This role must anticipate technologyenvironmental changes and be forward-thinking.Must haveexcellent written, verbal, management, administrative, and organizationalskills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Must be able toeffectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
