Job Description
At a site where meals are prepared, must assist the cook in the meal preparation and other site duties, clean up, and follow meal site check list, must have ability to lift over 20lbs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in preparation and serving of the daily noon meal. Assist in preparing the day's menu according to the menu plan, get meals ready for other VSS sites that this site provides meals for, package meals for meals on wheels, all in a timely matter.
• Assist in cleanup of meal preparation and serving areas. Assist in cleaning meal preparation and serving areas according to health standards, follow a monthly, weekly, and daily cleaning schedule on kitchen equipment.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers, and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
• Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
• Substitute for full-time Cook if needed.

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience working in a restaurant or food service setting.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
