Laboratory Technicians:

1. Complete Chain-of-Custody forms and collect urine specimens for drug screening for routine urinalysis.

2. Perform venipunctures, including associated requisition forms.

3. Perform computer data entry.

4. Complete Breath Alcohol screening test per Deparment of transportation requlations

To be qualified for assignment under this Contract, laboratory technicians shall:

1. Possess a four-year H.S. diploma, or equivalent, and a) Two years of appropriate full-time experience or training as a medical assistant or

b) Eight credits from an accredited college or university, including laboratory coursework in biology, chemistry, or medical technology, or

c) A satisfactory equivalent combination of (a) and (b) above. However,all candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.

2. Demonstrate proficiency in performing venipuncture.
