    Overview

    11B - Orthopaedic Trauma specializes in providing care to patients across different age groups. The unit consists of 19 private rooms and primarily deals with orthopaedic trauma injuries and other traumatic injuries requiring surgical intervention. Additionally, 11B offers medical overflow support when necessary and aligns with the Atrium Health Plan for Nursing and follows specific models for patient care delivery and coordination.

    Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital known for its exceptional patient care and medical expertise in the Southeast. CMC is the region's sole Level 1 trauma center and serves as an approved transplant center for various organs.

    Job Summary

    The role involves providing direct patient care and supporting daily operations, including coordination of care, allocation of resources, and compliance with regulatory standards. It also entails overseeing staff development, performance evaluation, and adherence to quality standards and regulations.

    Essential Functions

    • Enhancing nursing practices and service delivery
    • Participating in the selection and supervision of nursing staff
    • Coordinating communication among team members
    • Ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations
    • Conducting regular rounds to assess care quality
    • Delegating care responsibilities appropriately
    • Evaluating goal attainment and disseminating information
    • Providing nursing care, treatments, and medication administration
    • Managing patient flow and staffing resources effectively

    Physical Requirements

    The job demands various physical activities and the ability to lift weight. Proficiency in English, sensory functions, and critical thinking is essential for the role.

    Education, Experience and Certifications

    The ideal candidate should be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure. Previous nursing experience and management background are advantageous. A BSN is required, and professional certifications are expected within particular timeframes.
