    Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through STRL Mission Support direct hire authority.

Responsibilities You will perform needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions. You will consult with Range teams to identify and specify requirements for new or enhanced systems. You will develop overall functional and systems requirements and specifications. You will ensure the integration of all systems components; e.g., procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications DS-04:

    Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.

    Attention to Detail
    • Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    2. Customer Service
    • Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    3. Oral Communication
    • Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    4. Problem Solving
    • Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
    Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the lower pay band (DS-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1)


    Develops new work methods, standards, and practices designed to significantly improve the safety, quality, reliability, predictability, reusability, and cost performance of applications software systems.

    2) Develops and documents systems administration standard operating procedures. 3) Maintains baseline system security according to Range policies. 4) Manages system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability. DS-03:

    Your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year equivalent to the lower pay band (DS-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Provides ongoing optimization and problem-solving support. 2) Installs, updates, and troubleshoots systems/servers. Perform patching, as required. 3) Checks system hardware availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.

    Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A) ) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

    Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

    DS-03: Master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

    OR 2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

    Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.

    A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
