    CORE HOURS
    • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    UNIVERSAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Support the Mission of the Company by identifying and accomplishing team and individual performance goals that directly support the goals of the Company.
    • Treat all co-workers, customers, and suppliers with respect and in accordance with the Company's Code of Ethics and Core Values.
    • Follow all company GMPs and SOPs.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Support the implementation of all food safety, food quality, and sanitation programs.
    • Help develop Quality Control Technicians and Team Leaders and ensure they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
    • Serve as an SQF Practitioner.
    • Serve as a regular member of the HACCP team.
    • Coordinate and participate in food safety vendor audits.
    • Investigate and resolve food safety/quality-related issues by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative measures.
    • Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and facilitate necessary improvements in their processes.
    PERIODIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Serve as back-up to the Quality Manager.
    Requirements

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree or professional certification (preferably related to food safety/quality).
    • Two years of experience in quality control in the food processing industry.
    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
    KNOWLEDGE
    • Proven knowledge of the principles and practices of food safety.
    • Prior experience with external and internal food safety/quality audits.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, the Company database system, and Internet and email.
    ABILITIES AND SKILLS
    • Communication - Foster open communication with the quality manager on various projects, providing feedback and guidance on quality matters, and promoting/maintaining clear correspondence regarding day-to-day issues and operations.
    • Reasoning - Comprehend several abstract and concrete variables; using logic or reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems; bring others together to negotiate resolution of differences.
    • Mathematical - Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
    • Language Development - Ability to communicate information and ideas by speaking or writing so others will understand; ability to gather and organize information to write reports; can prepare and assist with presentations; evaluate technical data.
    • Physical Effort - Sedentary work: exerting a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly and occasionally exerting up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    • Vision - Far, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, color identification, and field of vision
    • Activity - Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, finger dexterity, talk and hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste or smell.

    • Spanish Language - ability to read, write, or speak Spanish.
