- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of relevant clerical experience
- Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
- Skilled in organizing, prioritizing tasks, multi-tasking, and record-keeping
- Self-motivated with the ability to function with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Provide customer service to administration, staff, students, parents, and community members. This includes responding to telephone, fax, mail, and email requests promptly and accurately.
- Type and prepare various documents for the Assistant Principal
- Coordinate major events, such as the first day of school workshop and the graduation ceremony
- Design and monitor weekly progress sheets, develop the agenda, and prepare referrals for special and regular education services
- Coordinate homebound services with applicable staff
- Coordinate announcements with staff and students
- Ensure proper programming of daily bells
- Collect information, prepare the weekly agenda, and maintain the spreadsheet for the student needs committee
- Document and track behavioral referrals and suspensions
- Prepare and forward expulsion documentation to the District Education Center for investigation and complete the report to Children's Family and Learning
- Maintain student attendance records, preparing daily dismissal lists and quarterly reports
- Prepare truancy documentation for Ramsey and Washington County Attorney
- Generate petitions for Community Corrections and notify the Assistant Principal of tobacco violations
- Maintain the list containing book/material fines due
- Update Northeast Metro with special activities taking place at the school
- Coordinate the annual calendar
- Schedule and coordinate school pictures
- Plan and organize parent-teacher conferences
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the graduation preparation process. This includes scheduling, ordering graduation attire, announcements, diplomas, the Graduation Handbook, programs, tickets, seating, licensing, insurance, set-up/take-down, and payment of expenses incurred.
- Maintain a graduation budget and count, verifying and depositing graduation-related fees accordingly
- Generate and submit job posting requisitions
- Order office and classroom supplies
- Complete print shop requisitions and coordinate the printing of correspondence such as employee handbooks, memos, teacher check-off lists, etc.
- Prepare tickets for school events such as graduation and dances
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary
- Other related duties as assigned
