    Description

    Position Summary:
    We are seeking a Building Systems Engineer to join our team in Spring Grove, IL.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the layout, design, and management of building structures, foundations, and site civil needs.

    Additionally, this role will involve project management of outside and inside contractors to ensure cost-effective and timely installations.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Create functional building and plant layouts and design reliable foundations for unique machinery.
    Utilize 2D CAD software for the layout, design, and documentation of building structures, plant layouts, and plant utilities.
    Analyze project feasibility, develop budget and project ROI, and generate project specifications.
    Prepare bid packages, obtain quotations, negotiate prices and delivery, review contracts, and authorize project submittals.
    Develop and maintain visual schedules for building and foundation projects using project management software.
    Manage various sub-contractors for plant building and office projects as the general contractor.
    Supervise Project Crew personnel during the installation and assembly of designs.
    Oversee the quality and safety of external contractors' work for the installation of buildings, foundations, and utilities.
    Handle the modification, redesign, and repair of existing structures.
    Possess deep knowledge and understanding of building structural design and heavy machinery foundation design.
    Demonstrate knowledge of plant utilities, civil engineering, building codes, and environmental codes.
    Take responsibility for the architectural and structural needs of all plants.
    Ensure designs meet or exceed respective codes, prioritizing plant and personnel safety.

    Non-Essential Duties (nice to have skills):
    Assist with mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
    Have rigging experience and be able to draft written engineered lift plans.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Structural Engineering.
    Strong skills in project management, both through education and experience.
    Professional Engineering License is a plus.
    3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
    Knowledge of permitting, building codes, and standards.
    Proficiency in reading structural blueprints and generating 2D CAD.
