    EST, there will be a scheduled downtime for users of the Michigan Postsecondary Schools (MIPSS) and the Michigan Training Connect (MiTC) systems.

    We are using this time to enhance our overall service delivery. Thank you for choosing MIPSS and MiTC. MiTalent (PMTC) users are NOT affected by this scheduled downtime.

    To better serve our team members and clients, we are looking for a Safety Specialist to join and strengthen our team.


    Responsibilities include:


    Assist with tasks for safety program (prepare memos, notices, letters, training materials; coordinate/schedule meetings and orientations; take minutes in committee meetings; prepare training certificates; track staff training, accreditation refresher dates; quarterly update safety auditing databases).

    Conduct field safety audits and travel overnight/out-of-state to SME offices.
    Hold safety meetings/training events (presenting to an audience/public speaking).

    Do whatever else is necessary to contribute to the success of the safety program, improvement of SME safety culture and health/safety of all SME Team Members.

    Additional Requirements

    Requirements include:


    Basic knowledge of health/Safety regulations/requirements, terminology and concepts; experience in OSHA/safety related record keeping and reporting, experience with coordination and presentation of safety meetings/training programs.

    Proficient in MS office Suite.
    Prefer experience with reporting to safety auditing databases such as Avetta, ISNetworld, PEC Premier, etc.

    Assertive and willing to take on new/unfamiliar tasks/concepts/procedures and work without constant, direct supervision to complete assigned tasks and duties.

    Can do attitude, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
    Ability/willingness to come in early and stay late when necessary.
    Willingness to stay committed to tasks and the position for the long haul to help develop our safety culture.
