- Advise students on academic, personal, financial, and career issues using data-driven advising strategies.
- Provide students with information about educational opportunities, financial aid, career exploration, graduate school application, motivation, and self-awareness through workshops and individual counseling/advising
- Assess, document, and record students' interests, needs, and goals, and develop meaningful and appropriate academic interventions and services
- Compile eligibility information for newly accepted students and incoming classes for data analysis purposes
- Oversee the development and continual updating of programmatic policies and procedures while maintaining focus on meeting SSSD grant objectives.
- Produce and distribute flyers, advertisements, information sheets, and other programmatic materials via our social media platforms and website
- Oversee the Peer Leaders, manage the allocated budget, and help administer corresponding programming
- Coordinate with the Director, Residence Life Dean, and Bon Appetit to ensure room and board for the New Student Orientation is on track
- Organize recruitment efforts with the Admissions Office
- Participate in staff meetings, team development sessions, and relevant committees, as well as build new collaborations with other organizations
- Coordinate with Disability and Access and Deans of Students for targeted student support
- Foster a team-based culture that is responsive, innovative, efficient, and service-oriented.
- Co-lead the hiring and supervision of Orientation Leaders and Peer Leaders

Reports To: Director of Student Support Services for Students with Disabilities
Classification: Exempt
FTE: .92
Salary: $46,600 - $51,600
Essential Job Duties:
1. Leadership

Work Schedule:
Term: 11 months (July off); position is grant funded, continuation of position is contingent upon renewal of funding.
Shift: The standard 40-hour work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors; occasional evenings and weekend hours; travel up to 10% of the work schedule, which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and national travel.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in counseling, education, or a related field
Experience: 3+ years experience working with TRIO-eligible students, multicultural populations, or under-prepared students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years experience in counseling or related roles.
Prerequisites:
Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College.
