- This role combines both outpatient clinical care and surgical responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse and underserved population. The ideal candidate will be committed to clinical excellence, surgical precision, and making a lasting impact in a rural health setting.
- Proficiency in cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and common anterior segment procedures.
- Ability to manage a full-spectrum ophthalmology caseload independently.
- Experience in or willingness to work in a rural or medically underserved setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-based approach.
- Interest in mentoring or training staff or students
- Perform comprehensive ophthalmologic exams and provide diagnosis and management of eye diseases and visual disorders.
- Conduct surgical procedures, including (but not limited to) cataract extraction, eyelid surgeries, laser treatments, and other anterior segment surgeries.
- Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients.
- Provide routine and urgent care for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and trauma-related ocular injuries.
- Base salary $246,000 - $650,000
- Hospital employed status (not-for-profit hospital)
- Negotiable salary; guaranteed base with incentive package
