    Summary


    GameStop's Controllership team is looking to add a Senior Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to the Company's financial accounting and reporting function.

    This role is considered one of the company's subject matter experts in US GAAP and SEC standards and will partner extensively with others in corporate accounting, finance, tax, legal, treasury, human resources, and IT.

    This individual will serve as the Company's SEC reporting expert and will be passionate about supporting good business decisions by delivering accurate and well-presented accounting information in a timely manner.

    The role will have significant interaction with senior leadership and manage the relationship with the external auditors for external reporting matters.

    This role also manages the global accounting policies for the business, interprets and implements new accounting pronouncements, and evaluates and provides recommendations to senior management regarding complex accounting issues and transactions.

    Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

    Drive SEC reporting process for public filings, such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, and 8-K, Section 16 filings, including XBRL tagging

    Advise and assist in complex accounting transactions including documentation of technical memos to ensure appropriate accounting treatment

    Lead in the preparation and filing of Forms 3, 4, and SD as well as the annual proxy statement

    Collaboration with global teams on standardized data collection to support SEC disclosures and set SEC calendars

    Owns the completion of the consolidated statement of cash flow and related analytical review

    Monitor FASB and SEC developments to identify and document the potential impact of new pronouncements or other authoritative guidance to the company's global operations

    Manage the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements, as needed

    Review, update and/or create global accounting policies for technical US GAAP accounting and operational policies

    Partner with business leads globally to ensure proper training is provided and business partners have the necessary understanding to execute and comply with the company's accounting policies

    Create mechanisms to monitor adherence to these global accounting standards

    Complete special projects and prepare analyses for senior management requiring technical accounting research and analysis of financial information as requested

    Primary point of contact with external auditors to support the year-end audit, quarterly reviews, Gamer Fund audit, benefit plan audits and other statutory reporting

    Manage the preparation and submissions for monthly, quarterly, and annual Census and BEA surveys as they relate to financial information

    Work collaboratively with others within and outside of the function to achieve goals, simplify processes, reduce costs and to ensure risk related to accounting are mitigated

    Assist in updating the SOX controls and process flows for the SEC Reporting department to ensure compliance with SOX

    Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of a senior accountant and perform related supervisory/review duties

    Participate in other projects as assigned by manager to help with globalization of the accounting function

    Required

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related, accredited field required

    Active CPA license required

    8+ years of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or a multinational public company environment

    Experience in Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting

    Strong U.S. GAAP acumen and understanding of accounting and financial reporting matters affecting public companies

    Demonstrated ability to research and interpret accounting guidance and draft accounting memorandums and policies to support conclusions

    Experience with multi-currency statement of cash flows

    Preferred

    Experience with SEC filing tool (Workiva), and XBRL

    Experience with Oracle's FCCS tool and SAP a plus

    Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interface with multiple levels of management

    Possess proficient analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

    Attention to detail and data quality control — effective at researching issues and problem solving

    Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives

    Work independently and effectively manage time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently; able to multi-task and adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
