    Description
    Under general direction, provides radiology IT support team technical and operational leadership and support for clinical systems within Radiology and affiliated imaging departments. Analyzes user, system and application needs; determines and evaluates alternative approaches; selects and implements the optimal solution to meet department operational needs. Provides direct application support for the update and maintenance of system configuration, system setup and application tables involving Carestream PACS, EPIC, Magview, Hi-IQ etc. Considers all associated business processes, operational and industry requirements, and related application/system functionality in decision process. Continues to enhance knowledge consistent with becoming a subject matter expert.

  • Under general guidance provides Radiology IT Support Team leadership
  • Capable of providing sound guidance to team members in matters of support delivery and project design and execution.
  • Assigns tasks and projects to team members as required.
  • Identifies opportunities for team workflow improvements and employs A3 methodology.
  • Regularly conducts project reviews with team members and manager.
  • Assists manager in performance reviews.
  • Understands most phases of clinical applications systems analysis and associated programming/configuration activities (involving Carestream PACS, EPIC, Magview, Hi-IQ etc.) resulting in the ability to devise or modify procedures, with direction, to solve complex problems while taking into consideration software and workflow limitations. Competent to work on most clinical applications systems activities independently with some instruction or guidance. Policies and procedures within Radiology Information Systems are clearly understood and applied accurately; modifications to existing procedures and/or new procedures are recommended as needed. Under general direction, sound solutions to complex issues are achieved through detailed investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. With direction, feasible cost-effective and process-efficient alternatives and other appropriate solutions for application development, enhancement, and/or modification are recommended on a consistent basis.
  • Installs, maintains and modifies software applications and associated hardware throughout Radiology and affiliated imaging departments. Guidance is provided to users during the analysis phases; project/task stakeholders are proactively engaged to elicit information. Work is scheduled and completed within the parameters set by management and as reasonably requested by customers. With direction, recommended and implemented solutions are in accordance with user/customer needs, Medical Center and department policies and standards, as well as regulatory requirements. Issues identified by users are resolved correctly and in a timely manner, with minimal downtime and/or negative impact to supported systems. Communication is maintained with users to review issues, identify additional improvements and provide project status reports; technically specific details are provided on an ongoing basis to increase the collective understanding of issues being addressed.   • With direction, serves as liaison between IT and user domains; user needs are reconciled with software capabilities to identify and implement the most appropriate software and/or hardware solution. Details pertaining to issue resolution are accurately recorded, tracked and documented in a timely fashion. In concert with user expectations/needs and departmental needs, priorities and turnaround times are appropriately established and communicated with stakeholders and management, as necessary. System changes are appropriately validated and documented in change management. Test cases are appropriately selected, evaluated for expected results, and documented. Comprehensive training manuals are developed, with direction, and used in end-user training, as appropriate.
  • Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of systems.
  • Initiative is demonstrated in maintaining awareness of technological changes to vendor systems to include updates, enhancements, defects, and best practices; communicates changes to junior personnel. With appropriate approval, develops and initiates a plan of action to implement vendor updates or enhancements. Vendor updates, defects, and/or need for downtimes are communicated to users, management and other technical staff, as needed.
  • Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts.
  • Provides assistance, instruction, and knowledge transfer to junior analysts on an ongoing basis. Provides appropriate guidance to less experienced staff during all phases of project implementation and/or task troubleshooting to ensure objectives are being met.
  • Fosters knowledge transfer by preparing and providing on-going in-service training.Trains Users.
  • Participates in the training of users in new system functionality. Takes an active role in the orientation and training of new system users. With approval, develops and institutes new training protocols as system changes are implemented.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and, with direction, modifies systems to comply. Seeks and applies information regarding regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA, Medicare, CAP, etc.) that apply to the various information systems and software currently in use throughout Radiology and affiliated imaging departments Assumes an active role in implementing changes and educating users concerning regulatory compliance-related issues. Participates in the audits, interim inspections, and reviews of current practices, policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance. Performs rotating and supplemental on-call.
  • On-call duties are performed and responded to in a timely manner.
  • Assistance with daily operational on-call is performed when directed.
  • Consistent, courteous support to customers is provided.
  • Consistent, timely resolution to customer issues is provided.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education: Bachelor's Degree

    Experience: Five years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
