Description
At all levels, our Cost Analyst will utilize their skills in cost estimating/analysis as well as in program management to support programs involved in development and procurement of space vehicles, ground segments, software suites, and integration infrastructure for various programs of the DOD Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDA&CP) community.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cost Analyst/Estimator shall support the Space Systems Command (SSC) SDACP mission area, and with Program Control Support staff as specified by the Customer
Will perform duties daily on-site in customer SCIF
Will interface with Space Force project officers, external USG partners, and commercial vendors
Perform cost modeling, and launch vehicle "quick reaction" scenario studies
Leverage subject matter expertise to address scenarios presented by SSC and USSF leadership – develop and maintain the requisite tools, databases, and systems required to maximize estimate accuracy/reliability while minimizing estimate development time
Provide input to specialized independent cost estimating products with a defined scope and end product on an as-needed basis
Teach junior analysts and program managers the cost analysis and estimation process, as well as the advanced mathematical concepts underlying them
Utilize modeling and estimation subject matter expertise to coordinate with external estimating organizations, including but not limited to the DAF/AFCAA and OSD/CAPE
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Some domestic travel may be required
Knowledge of DoD budgetary principles and procedures
Skill to recognize when decisions or information should be referred to a higher authority
Demonstrated knowledge of acquisition management regulations, practices, policies, and procedures including major system acquisition lifecycle resource planning practices and procedures, and Acquisition Program Baseline development and PMPs
Skills Required
Active TS/SCI clearance required
Successful applicants will have a minimum 20 years of Space Acquisitions experience
Highly developed analytical and mathematical skills
Teaching experience desired, to grow cost team and mentor customer program managers
Master's degree preferred
Salary Range:
$140, $150,000.00/Year
Education
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
