Main Purpose of Job
This position within the Kidney Dialysis Unit at Deer's Head Hospital Center is for an experienced dialysis registered nurse.
This position is responsible for the management and administration of the in-center hemodialysis program for patients who choose this modality of treatment for End Stage Renal Disease as well as supervision for home dialysis patients.
Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of the nursing care delivered by the dialysis staff.Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding
Vaccination (MDH # issued by the Secretary of the Maryland
Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and
residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any
local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees,
contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties
at the facility. An individual may request an accommodation by providing
appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.
Experience:
Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, one year of which must have been in the Medical option.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
The selected candidate must possess at least 1 year of experience performing hemodialysis in a chronic dialysis unit.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:
Experience providing nursing care for peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients
Experience demonstrating and explaining patient care practices for Joint Commission and/or Kidney Commission surveyors
