    Description

    The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for providing behavioral management interventions to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. Their role is crucial in preventing the need for more restrictive services or out-of-home placement. The BHT implements specific behavioral interventions outlined in the treatment plan for the assigned individuals. Additionally, they may offer 1:1 services to integrate them into regular settings and activities. Collaboration with the child, school staff, family, and the treatment team is key to achieving desired outcomes.



    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Communication
    • Maintain communication with treatment team members and relevant parties.
    • Advocate for consumer needs to meet treatment goals.
    • Collaborate with programs for service continuity.
    Documentation
    • Complete all documentation including progress notes and incident reports.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all interactions and activities.
    Planning
    • Organize interventions to support consumer development based on the Treatment Plan.
    • Attend meetings for service coordination and training sessions.
Monitoring
  • Provide oversight and direction to assigned individuals.
  • Assess service needs and inform the treatment team for plan updates.
Direct Service
  • Support consumers and staff as per requirements.
  • Implement treatment plans and provide feedback for plan relevance.
Networking
  • Attend conferences and represent the agency as necessary.
  • Complete assigned duties effectively.
BASIC SKILL SETS
  • Effective communication with various stakeholders.
  • Analyze data, solve problems, and present information coherently.
  • Proficiency in Behavioral Health systems and computer software.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Educational certification or relevant experience required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with child-serving systems is advantageous.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift weight, operate a computer, and maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
