**6:30am-2:30pm including every other weekend**
**Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center** is looking for a **Full Time Dining Room Server** to join our team The Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) **Server** demonstrates a commitment to total satisfaction of patients, residents and guest by providing professional table service in dining area(s). Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment to ensure products and services are of high quality and presentation. Adhere to NHC Food and Nutritional Services (FNS) operational standards and procedures.
***Duties and Responsibilities:***
Must demonstrate qualities of being a self-starter and be able to make independent decisions when necessary.
Has a thorough understanding of all regulations (local, state, and federal) which affect FNS including, but not limited to, patient care, sanitation, labor, fire, safety, and disaster and complies with these regulations.
Assists in maintaining the FNS department in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner and reports any problems to the Director of FNS, FNS Manager, Executive Chef or a designated Supervisor.
Uses good judgment in conserving supplies, preventing food waste, and conserving utilities. Reports any food, supply, and equipment needs or concerns to the Director of FNS, FNS Manager, Executive Chef or a designated Supervisor.
Dates, labels, and stores items properly. Uses proper food handling techniques.
Reviews daily menus, (including therapeutic and modified consistencies) and serves all diets correctly. When serving menu items, makes adjustments as needed and appropriate to meet patient and resident needs and preferences.
Responsible for timely service of meals in the dining area(s).
Attends in-service and other necessary training.
Keeps work area clean/uncluttered and completes assigned cleaning duties.
Responsible for the proper use, care, cleanliness, and sanitation of wait station and equipment.
Busses tables in the dining area(s) as needed using proper sanitation/infection control procedures; cleans and sanitizes tabletops in dining area(s) and re-sets for next meal service.
Communicates and cooperates with the partners, patients, residents and guests.
Performs other tasks as necessary and appropriate as directed by supervisor.
***Qualifications:***
Must have a sincere interest in food service and enjoy working with the senior care living population and other healthcare patients and residents.
Must possess and use excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and numbers.
Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Must be in good mental and physical condition.
Beneficial to possess or desire to learn basic computer skills.
Must possess or be willing to learn wait / service skills for tableside / fine dining.
Beneficial to possess or desire to learn basic food preparation and cooking skills.
Must work cooperatively and productively with FNS Partners and non-FNS partners following established policies of NHC.
Must have thorough knowledge of and be able to explain the daily menu to NHC patients, residents and guests. Must have, or possess the desire to learn, thorough knowledge of safety/sanitation, therapeutic and modified consistency diets, common food allergens, and basic nutrition principles.
Must desire to fulfill responsibilities of the position, must be at work on time and during schedule shift.
Must have or obtain an approved Sanitation Course certificate, as required by NHC standards and per state regulations.
