- Pastoral expectations that may include the leadership of an advisory group of students in a specified grade level and a reasonable number of study hall supervisions as needed. This includes enthusiastic participation in an annual week-long trip.
- Ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
- Keep parents informed about the learning of their children, and be proactive in communication with parents.
- Supervise Leadership Projects as part of the AISx Programme
- Academic responsibilities include enthusiastic participation in Professional Development, both that which is required by AIS and that which is identified by the teacher.
- A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Master's degree preferred).
- The successful candidate should have a passion for education and extensive experience teaching Mathematics.
- Enthusiastic about teaching within a multicultural and multilingual environment. Flexibility of approach and a collaborative style are essential.
- A commitment to equity and inclusion, inquiry and experiential based pedagogy is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.
- Experience of teaching IB MYP and IBDP is desirable, but good applicants with other curriculum experience are also welcome to apply.

AISx is an innovative program, launched in 2023, designed to provide flexible academic programs for those students who desire a more personalized academic schedule. In addition to college preparatory Honors level classes, AISx offers Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses in a blended delivery of in-person, remote and asynchronous learning. Our challenging academic programs develop internationally-minded, critical-thinking students able to take complex and often disparate knowledge, concepts and skills and forge these into new and unique ways of solving problems. We provide a rigorous education that focuses on leadership and sustainability in a diverse, multicultural, multilinguistic community.
In-person learning takes place at our new Sandy Springs campus. This wonderful 25 acre campus on the banks of the Chattahoochee river, provides the ideal environment for experiential, hands-on and project-based learning.
JOB PURPOSE
Teachers at AIS are innovators and leaders who have a passion for working with diverse students in a multicultural community and are always seeking new ways to personalize learning. AISx teachers need to have a flexible approach to teaching and learning, be adaptable to change, able to innovate and take risks and support students in the pursuit of their passions both inside and outside of the classroom.

Hours per week: 40 hours (1.0 FTE)
Reports to: Director of AISx
Start Date: August 1, 2024

This is a full-time position teaching Mathematics and Science to High school students enrolled in the AISx program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ideal candidates will have experience with a range of pedagogical approaches and will be excited by the opportunity to teach a diverse student body in an inquisitive and inquiry-based environment. The ideal candidate has demonstrated effective equitable and inclusive practices within and outside the classroom. A passion for working with adolescent learners, flexible attitude, commitment to lifelong learning, and a sense of humor are essential.
