    Job Summary

    Shuttle Bus Driver.

    Must be 21 years of age.

    Must pass background check and drug screen.

    **Paid CDL training and testing.

    Responsibilities

    Operate a shuttle bus and smaller passenger type vehicles. Provide transit service to the campus community along fixed routes as well as scheduled A.D.A. service. Load and secure wheel chair passengers using the wheel chair lifts and tie downs supplied in all buses as applicable. Inspect equipment daily for damage, equipment failures, and safety items to ensure the safe use of the equipment while performing assigned duties. Fill out, in writing, the Daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Report ( DVIR ). All routes are extremely time sensitive therefore all drivers must be punctual, report to work on time and drive routes as scheduled. All drivers are expected to arrive in uniform no less than 15 minutes prior to scheduled shift. The ability to follow shut down procedures, clean out buses and empty garbage is necessary. Driver needs to be safe, courteous, and professional. Must be able to sit for long periods of time as well as stand for periods of time. May instruct others of a lesser classification in methods of operating heavy vehicles and equipment as instructed by the crew leader. Performs clean-up service as necessary to provide a pleasant environment for the University community.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A valid Utahs Drivers License; the ability to move heavy objects; and positive customer service skills required. A Commercial Drivers License with a chauffeurs endorsement or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) may be required if the job responsibilities require the exclusive transportation of passengers, such as for the shuttle bus or VA van.

    Preferences

    Previous bus driving experience highly preferred.

    Excellent familiarity with connecting UTA and TRAX routes.
