- Must be a licensed MD in New Jersey. Current CDS and DEA also required.
- Specialty Training or experience in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred.
- Board Certification or Board Eligible status is needed.
- Evaluate all individuals referred to the AOT program and determine the appropriateness of completing a physician's commitment certification, based on meeting AOT criteria.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations for each individual accepted into the AOT to determine the on-going and continued appropriateness of maintaining AOT treatment with regard to the least possible restrictive setting.
- Wherever possible, provide live testimony at all court hearings.
- Administer and monitor psychotropic medication to program identified individuals in the AOT program who can benefit from such medication.
- Provide consultations and re-evaluations on a scheduled or emergency basis to individuals involved with AOT.
- Provide clinical oversight and direction to the AOT program staff.
- Direct clinical case conferences.
- Provide in-service training to enhance staff competency.
- Re-assess AOT patients prior to court review proceedings.
- Performs monthly quality assurance evaluations with AOT Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the AOT Program Director
