    Job Title: Activity Bus Driver

    We are seeking a qualified Activity Bus Driver to transport students and staff to various locations for school activities.

    About the Role:

    • Drive a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules.
    • Pick up and discharge students at designated stops.
    • Transport students and teachers on field trips to various locations; planning necessary routes and stops as needed.
    • Operate transportation software to scan student badges.
    • Operate two-way radio.
    • Comply with federal, state, and School District policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Maintain order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy.
    • Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily.
    • Report needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
    • Service buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; check and fill tires and batteries as needed.
    • Perform periodical safety drills as required by law; complete necessary reports upon request.
    • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.
    • Complete periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts.
    • Attend various meetings regarding safety, first aid, and training updates as required.
    • Attend driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Nebraska Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children.

    Requirements:

    • A valid Nebraska driver's license with a CDL or ability to obtain a CDL.
    • Satisfactory driving record.
    • No history of child abuse or negligence.
    • Ability to work well on a team with various personalities.
    • High degree of flexibility and adaptability.
    • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
    • Regular, dependable attendance on the job.
