We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Lead Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team and drive our technical vision forward. As the Lead Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our backend infrastructure, ensuring it is efficient, scalable, and robust. You will work closely with our Data Science, NLP, Data Engineering, and Product teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a small team of Backend and offshore Frontend Engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship
• Develop, deploy, and maintain efficient and scalable backend infrastructure, ensuring it can handle large amounts of data
• Design and implement API endpoints that power the platform, and allow clients to access it directly
• Work closely with the Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product Teams to develop and deploy best-in-class solutions for our customers
• Develop and maintain automated unit tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our code

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable, and efficient systems
• Experience leading a team of engineers and providing technical guidance and mentorship
• Skilled at writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in Python
• Extensive experience building a large-scale cloud-based application
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., ElasticSearch)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong ability to translate business asks into actionable tasks
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
