    Accounting Associate

    Position Summary

    The Accounting Associate will provide administrative support to finance and sales teams. You will be responsible for administrative job duties concerning the processing of deductions and check payables. You will be expected to use all deduction paperwork, including a copy of the check or payment file showing the deduction taken on a payment, and verify that the deduction was taken correctly as per the accruals that Sales has put in place for any type of promotion, fees merchandisers, etc. Also, processing accruals from Sales will be required, which is the first step in the process and performing various clerical functions of or relating to business operational efficiency, improvement, and continuance.

    Duties and Responsibilities


    • Provides administrative assistance to finance and sales team members as required in relation to the accruals/payables process.


    • Tracking and logging information of documents processed pertaining to accruals and payables.


    • Scanning accruals and payables (1 sheet only) that were returned with signatures or electronic approvals and placing them in the respective scan folders.


    • Moving all completed folders for both accruals and payables for either deductions or check payments to the completed folder.


    • Performs any necessary administrative duties including researching information requested or preparing reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


    • Converts report data into easily readable formats.


    • Process accruals and payables for deductions and/or check payments.


    • Manages and tracks inter-departmental task requests and status.


    • Assumes limited responsibilities of direct supervisor's functions in his/her absence.


    • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Technical Skills and Experience Required


    • 1 to 2 years in accounting and administrative experience preferred.


    • Highly proficient in Math/Accounting


    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Outlook)


    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


    • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete multiple tasks within prescribed periods.


    • Able to analyze data and effectively draw correlations.


    • Intermediate to advanced level reporting skills

    Minimum Education


    • Associate degree or certificate in accounting field preferred


    • Associate degree in business administration or similar field
