Job summary
The Director of Religious Education (DRE) is a full-time position responsible for administering and developing the Parish Religious Education Program for approximately 500 children. The DRE must be a practicing Catholic with understanding and support for Catholic Church teaching.The responsibilities include overseeing the development of the program, researching resources, providing students with service opportunities,
incorporating ways for engaging parents in faith formation,
meeting with the Pastor to discuss matters relating to Parish Religious Education and sacramental preparation,
directing sacramental preparation that uses most current methodologies and includes parents,
developing options for students who fall into a catch-up situation regarding First Sacraments preparation.
- Recruit catechists and volunteers
- Schedule liturgical celebrations of first sacraments
- Coordinate Vacation Bible School
