PARAPROFESSIONAL – North Plainfield, NJ

Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking multiple qualified Paraprofessionals for a school district located in North Plainfield, NJ for the current school year. The goal of the paraprofessionals is to promote child growth by providing academic, behavioral/emotional, and physical support to students. There are multiple openings including working as a classroom aide and 1:1 support paraprofessional with student of all ages. Must be comfortable with assisting in toileting. Must be comfortable working with a student of special needs.

Hours/Schedule

Schedule:

· Monday through Friday

Hours:

· Dependent on school and classroom setting

Responsibilities

• Provide behavior management for students exhibit physical behavioral outbursts.

• Provide instructional reinforcement for students

• Attend to student's physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs

• Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans

• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials

• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class as needed

• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and/or school administration

Requirements

• Previous experience with childcare preferred

• Excellent communication skills and ability to understand child's needs

• High school diploma or equivalent;

• Must have or be willing to get fingerprinted by the Board of Education.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma (required); or

• An Associate's Degree or higher (preferred); or

• Completion of some study at an institution of higher learning (prefered)
