    Commercial Construction Estimator

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepares detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications as well as performing quality takeoffs for all scopes and trades.
    • Develops and prepares conceptual estimates with minimal assistance from subcontractors, using limited information.
    • Develops subcontract interest in projects and manages the subcontractor RFP process.
    • Develops high-quality subcontractor proposals, according to project specifics.
    • Itemizes trade-specific scopes and prepares bid packages.
    • Reviews software-generated estimates for completion and technical accuracy and to ensure quality and integrity.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Interacts with clients, architects, engineers and local jurisdictions to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, etc.
    • Helps construction team prepare job schedules.

    The Commercial Construction Cost Estimator must maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, the Commercial Construction Cost Estimator must be proficient in commercial estimating software, such as MC2, QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, etc.; experience with Procore preferred.

    Education/Experience:

    Relevant commercial construction estimating experience, particularly in conceptual budgeting; extensive knowledge of industry practices, procedures and market trends; four-year degree in construction management or engineering or at least 10 years of experience preferred.
