    Summary
    Mueller is one of the nation's most notable mixed-income, mixed-use communities located in the heart of Austin.

    The 700-acre site of Austin's former airport is being transformed into a diverse, sustainable, compatible, revitalizing and fiscally responsible master-planned community.

    Mueller is a joint project between the City of Austin Economic Development Department and Catellus Development.

    Upon completion, Mueller will feature at least 6,900 single-family and multifamily homes (including more than 1,725 affordable homes), a mixed-use town center district known as Aldrich Street, 5.5 million square feet of prime commercial space, including 750,000 square feet of local and regional retail space, 140 acres of public parks and open space, plus Dell Children's Medical Center, the Austin Film Studios, The Thinkery Children's Museum, H-E-B Grocer and the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center.

    The Events and Communications Venue Manager ("Manager") will focus on coordinating and supporting the operations and management of the Branch Park Pavilion, an expertly crafted multi-purpose event space designed for a wide array of events while providing management support to Mueller's community-wide communications, engagement initiatives, and event operations This role helps ensure clear and consistent community messaging, marketing initiatives, well-executed events, and effective day-to-day community activation.

    Scope


    • Serve as the primary point of contact for Branch Park Pavilion reservations; manage Honeybook facilitate site visits, contract execution, ensure insurance requirements met and respond to general event questions.
    • Plan, Coordinate and oversee successful execution of a variety of events: weddings, corporate functions, community gatherings, marketing programs, etc...
    • Identify and secure vendors to support events (e.g. catering, tables, chair, and stage rentals).
    • Maintain an annual maintenance and operations calendar; coordinate amenity services, repairs, preventive maintenance to maximize the useful life of all amenity resources.
    • Develop and manage an annual operating budget and event proformas, oversee invoicing, payments, refunds, and reimbursements.
    • Ensure all events comply with local regulations, safety standards, and POA policies.
    • Foster relationships with local businesses, vendors and community organizations to enhance the venue's offerings and community presence.
    • Identify, vet and secure appropriate vendor partners in support of programs and events; negotiate pricing and agreements; secure required insurance certificates, liability waivers and related documentation.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure communications and key message points are in alignment with overarching objectives.
    • Oversee the permitting and licensing ensuring compliance with city, county and state regulations.
    • Supervise and support the Communications and Engagement Coordinator, providing direction on workload priorities, event logistics, community outreach, and content development.
    • Review and approve communications related to events and programs, including newsletters, website updates, and promotional materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
    • Provide leadership and oversight for community engagement efforts by supporting the development of the engagement plan and directing the Communications and Engagement Coordinator in the execution of programs, activities, and resident outreach

    Requirements


    • Three to five years of progressive experience in hospitality, event management, recreation management, non-profit management or related field with transferable skills
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, while managing multiple events with competing priorities simultaneously.
    • Experience working in a master-planned community, homeowners association, or similar community-focused environment is highly desirable.
    Proficiency in a wide range of software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). Experience with WordPress or others content management systems required.
    Work Environment

    The Event Venue Manager should expect to:

    • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and being on feet for extended periods of time.
    • Provide one's own transportation for off-site programs, meetings with partners, picking up necessary supplies, etc.; must have a current drivers' license and an acceptable driving record.
    • Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be on feet for extended periods.
