    Produces high-quality brake shoes as well as new brake kits and lined shoes for medium and heavy-duty truck and bus applications.

    The business is part of the brake products group of MAT, which is a part of our presence in the commercial vehicle braking segment and complements our existing product offering in our heavy-duty portfolio.

    We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Plant Manager for the Rome facility to provide strong leadership so we may grow and expand our footprint in the commercial vehicle and heavy-duty braking segments.

    Job Description


    This position is responsible for providing managerial leadership and direction to the plant facility, including manufacturing and distribution, maximizing capital and human resource utilization in attaining production objectives of acceptable quality within established cost parameters.

    The position is also accountable for the management direction of the plant's people, materials, and assets to produce assigned products according to the production plan and customer requirements.

    The Plant Manager drives the facility's Lean Manufacturing and change management initiatives and implements effective Continuous Improvement programs supporting plant and customer requirements.

    Working to continuously improve production operations concerning productivity, quality, safety, and inventory levels to meet customer demand and operating expenses while utilizing lean manufacturing techniques
    Provide Effective Leadership to ensure the plant leadership team is continually aligned to accomplish the company's Operational Goals & objectives
    Maintains staff job results by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; answering grievances; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance results
    Ensure thorough production process root cause analysis and complete corrective actions are completed on a timely basis
    Achieve financial objectives by assisting in preparing the production budget and scheduling expenditures; compiling and studying costs; initiating corrective actions
    Develop and ensure execution of site budgets
    Implementing capital projects and training programs to attain volume and productivity goals
    Maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements

    Support compliance with the Quality Management System and all other applicable regulations that may apply, including environmental health & Safety requirements.

    Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    Communicate the plant performance and results to the team. Utilize and update visual communications on the floor
    Manage production operations plant start-up and shut-down procedures, production equipment, and alarms
    Consult with Human Resources regarding hiring, transfer, and discipline of employees as it relates to company policy
    Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
    Qualifications


    Preferred/Required Education/Skills:
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or sufficient years of experience
    Ten (10) or more years in a manufacturing environment
    Lean thinker, demonstrated passion and experience implementing and working in a Lean environment
    Proven ability to develop a culture of safety and 5S
    Proven leader who can manage a fast-paced environment and drive success through daily task management and team building/accountability
    Working knowledge of SAP a plus
