Job summary
The Housekeeper performs tasks that involve cleaning and servicing the building areas of the facility in order to maintain the facility in an orderly, sanitary and attractive condition under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, strips, washes and shampoos floor surfaces
- Cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephone areas and vents
- Scours, polishes and sanitizes sinks counters stainless steel surfaces waste receptacles Empties waste receptacles cleans solid waste containers transports medical waste to outside storeroom as directed Uses room deodorizer as necessary Ensures paper supplies are always available Washes windows walls which may involve removing draperies rugs as directed Gathers returns needed cleaning supplies equipment daily to support rooms as directed Follows OSHA Standards for handling infectious waste Education Requirements:
