    PMA-264 is currently seeking a Production Sonobuoy Documentation Coordinator.

    This position serves as a Production Sonobuoy Documentation Coordinator/Technical Writer. AN/SSQ-Series Sonobuoys are the principal sensors used by U.S.

    Navy Air Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) forces in carrying out their primary mission functions of detection, classification and localization of adversary submarines during peacetime and combat operations.

    Sonobuoys are an "A-size" expendable device commandable via an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) link as well as reporting acoustic information over standard Very High Frequency (VHF) sonobuoy Radio Frequency (RF) channels.

    The Production Team is the cognizant activity responsible for fleet issued technical manuals and documentation.

    The Production Sonobuoy Documentation Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and revisions to production sonobuoys documentation (examples; Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), Demilitarization Manuals (DEMIL), Safety Documentation, etc.) delivered to the Navy by coordinating, documenting, and communicating requisite changes and updates to the appropriate Technical Documentation Activities and Logistics Management Specialists.

    This includes the coordination, compilation, review, and communication with the Sonobuoy Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Logisticians and Sonobuoy Analysts, Contracting Officer, other government agencies, as well as the sonobuoy manufacturer.


    Primary Duties in this Role:
    Review and manage all technical updates to existing sonobuoy manuals (IETM, DEMIL, etc.)
    Communicate all formal change requests to FRCSW North Island for the IETM
    Coordinate, obtain, and format technical inputs from SMEs and Sonobuoy Team for distribution and updating into requisite documentation
    Review all technical inputs for grammar and clarity
    Identify opportunities for improvement in manuals and technical documentation.
    Deliver strong communication skills (written & verbal); ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    Education and Experience
    Bachelor's Degree preferred (will consider experience level and Associates Degrees)
    Minimum of two (2) to (4) years of relevant experience (i.e. familiarity with Navy manuals) or any equivalent combination of education, employment, internships, and/or research activities that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
    Ability to work independently or as part of a team
    Proficient with MS Office and a working knowledge of VISIO
    Familiarization with Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) sensors desirable

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
