Environmental Engineer
at the Romulus facility, you will have the opportunity to champion the air, waste and water compliance programs and be responsible for developing programs to reduce environmental risk.
You will work cross functionally with diverse groups to create and implement best-in-class, sustainable solutions to improve environmental compliance and sustainability across the site.
As anEnvironmental Engineer
you will be working in an exciting manufacturing environment and be a part of a team fulfilling GM's Vision of Zero, Zero, Zero.
As a valued member within the Sustainable Workplaces team, your role is focused on providing technical expertise, developing strategies, and looking ahead for the future success of GM.
We are currently looking for hardworking individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to help make the facility a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability.
What You'll DoProvide results in a manner that is truthful and demonstrates strength of character.
Focus on driving consistent environmental stewardship programs in support of GM's mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work.
Build bridges by engaging with our Business Partners and environmental leaders to enable success for the organization, ensuring the achievement of Business Plan goals and objectives, as well as meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
Engage with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and any other local regulatory agencies to ensure implementation of robust environmental programs and to build relationships that support innovation and expedient resolution of concerns.
Utilize technology and information to develop and maintain environmental management systems in support of GM's mission to deliver data driven solutions that allow us to operate efficiently now and in the future.
Support and improve system designs that preserve the environment, integrate the latest technologies and provide long-term environmental solutions.
Demonstrate a culture of inclusion by actively listening, embracing change and educating others to work effectively together while providing environmental training and coaching.
Grow to understand the plant manufacturing systems including production processes, wastewater discharges, storm water management, air emissions impacts, sewer systems, chemical usage, and waste management/recycling programs, to ensure effective decision-making and regulatory compliance.
