    The 46th Test Squadron's Datalinks Test Flight is searching for a junior software engineer who will work with a team of professionals empowered to develop applications used to test and evaluate tactical datalinks systems.

    Datalinks system training is provided, and a flexible work schedule is available.

    This position will provide you with a uniquely interesting opportunity in creating and maintaining software applications that provide support to operational forces during worldwide DoD operations.

    You will develop software that enhances current Air Force weapon system test assessment capabilities and create new applications as future next generation aircraft platforms arrive.

    Your ability to learn and grow as a software engineer is only limited by how far you want to go.

    When executing test events, work hours can be extended and may vary. Test events are typically 1-2 weeks in length. Travel requirements are typically 1 week per month but varies.

    This position provides cybersecurity support directly to the 46th Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL.


    This support includes the following:
    Essential Duties And Responsibilities

    Provide software engineering support on DoD Developmental, Test, & Evaluation systems.

    Work with your software development team and system stakeholders in developing and sustaining software applications following Agile programming and Software Development Lifecycle principles.

    Learn the ability to program applications in Object-Oriented programming and Object-Oriented design concepts in C#.
    Learn the programming of applications that include interfacing with tactical datalinks, to include MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-1553, VMF, SADL, etc.
    Perform root cause analysis in the isolation and resolution of datalinks application anomalies.
    Advise and assist DoD customers in the use of your applications to ensure mission success.

    Required Experience


    Required Experience:
    Minimum of a technical BS Degree and a minimum of 0-3 years of applicable experience.

    Ability to obtain and maintain an interim DoD Secret Clearance within 6 months of start date, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance at the completion of the government's process; U.S.

    Citizenship required
    Security+ or better certification required within six months of employment.
    Software programming experience required.

    Preferred Skills And Qualifications

    Current and active Secret or Top Secret security clearance highly desired.
    .NET programming with C# experience desired.
    Experience with other Object-Oriented programming desired a plus.
    Experience with generating user interfaces in Microsoft Visual Studio a plus.
    Knowledge of XML/XSD, databases and other external data storage formats desired.
    Familiarity in source control, configuration control software; GIT experience desired.
