    Description

    The Powder Technician/Material Handler position is to mix powder resin jobs, supply operations with the needed production materials, stage materials and molds for changes in production, and perform other tasks critical to operations as directed by the Plant Manager or designee.

    The Powder Technician/Material Handler may also be responsible for covering the rotational machines during breaks.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Operates material blending equipment along with support equipment such as but not limited to, material augers, scales, lift trucks.
    Assists in managing and verifying material and on hand inventory levels as related to the mixing department.
    Able to understand information from BOM and work instructions to properly blend colored.
    Willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up and organization of daily tasks.
    Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
    Stages molds and materials for the next 24 hours of production.
    Puts molds away that came off machine within the last 24 hours of production.
    Maintains a clean and safe work area. Abiding by 5-S principles.
    Able to safely work at a pace that meets company expectations.

    PREFERRED and REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:
    High School Diploma or GED is preferred

    Experience and/or Training:
    Prior rotational molding experience preferred

    Licenses/Certificates:
    Lift Truck Certification (Redline Certification)

    Technology/Computer Equipment:
    Ability to utilize computer platforms to access work instructions and perform inventory transactions


    PHYSICAL and MENTAL DEMANDS:
    This position is required to constantly stand and walk.
    It is necessary for this position to frequently climb stairs throughout the day.
    Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders may be required.
    Frequent use of hands and wrists on both large and small items: e.g., screws, bolts, nuts to service the molds
    Able to focus and work at a continuous pace for long periods of time.
    15 to 25 lbs. frequent lifting.
    20 to 40 lbs. occasional lifting.
    Manual dexterity is required to perform normal day to day functions.
    Must always demonstrate patience to successfully work through frustrating challenges and present oneself in a calm professional manner.
    Must have the ability to work with and around others.
    Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    The main working environment for this position is the standard manufacturing plant environment.


    The plant environment is climate controlled in some areas, however, will include exposure to heat and hot surfaces, cold, noise and odors.

    Personal protective equipment is required in appropriate areas. There may also be intermittent exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts and tool vibration.
