- Entry Rate: Based on experience
- Shift Details: Late Afternoon / Evening Shifts and Weekends to provide 7 day coverage between 2 positions
- Must be a certified Child Life Specialist with active certification.
- Child life experience in a medical or hospital setting.
- A 600-hour Child Life Internship must be completed to be eligible for certification.
- Previous Emergency Department, bereavement support, and trauma experience in the Child Life field would be helpful.
- New grads will need to provide their internship completion certificate signed by their Intern supervisor.
- Accurately assesses, prioritizes, and documents pediatric patient and family care.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates effective pediatric patient and family centered healthcare plans.
- Provides developmentally-appropriate education, psychological procedural preparation, coping support, comfort management, and play opportunities to pediatric patients and families.
- Participates in selection, supervision, and training of practicum students and volunteers.
- Assists with orienting, training, and mentoring new employees.
- Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution.
- Child Life Certification from Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) or eligible for Child Life Certification.
- Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases or similar applications.
- Successfully completed child life internship with completion documentation.
- Master's degree.
- 1 year of Child Life work experience in a medical or hospital setting.
- Spanish Speaking.
