    Description

    Performs a variety of routine and specialized examinations including vascular sonography. Performs examinations in accordance with the established Ultrasound protocols and procedures. Ensures a smooth operational and productive workflow; and other duties as assigned.

    $5,000 Sign-On-Bonus

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Ultrasound Technology
    • Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography
    • Health Care Provider CPR certification
    • One to three years of related experience preferred
    • Requires working knowledge of proper scanning and body mechanics to reduce injury
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1.Demonstrates clinical competence in all section protocols established by the radiologists. Applies detailed knowledge of anatomy in order to produce images of high quality.
    2.Assists in mentoring of new technologists and other support staff.
    3.Pleasantly greets and introduces self to patients, verify their identification and the correctness of the examination to be performed.
    4.Explains examination to the patient and family, if present.
    5.Ensures any required consent forms are signed prior to the examination.
    6.Scans patient for the proper Ultrasound examination and instruct patient as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure.
    7.Performs Ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician.
    8.Updates patient history and record unusual conditions/limitations, document begin and end examination times in the RIS and add any billing charges if applicable in the RIS.
    9.Evaluates images for acceptable quality, correct parameters, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards all images via PACS to the Radiologist for review and reporting.
    10.Ensures clean and safe environment practicing Infection Control and Universal Precautions.
