    The current job opening is for a Nurse Clinician 3 (Registered Nurse).

    Nursing candidates fulfilling less than 60% of a full-time position may receive prorated benefits. Specific leave provisions for NC3-Weekend positions can be found in the Compensation Plan. Part-time employees may not be eligible for all benefits based on the position's full-time equivalency.

    Position Summary

    The Nurse Clinician 3 (NC3) role involves delivering advanced nursing care to incarcerated adults in state correctional facilities. Responsibilities include independent management of direct patient care for individuals with complex health conditions that prevent them from residing in the General Population. The position covers a wide array of care, including patient assessments, medication management, emergency care, and discharge planning. Additionally, the job entails assignment scheduling, staff delegation, educational program development, and participation in quality assurance practices.

    Salary Information

    Nurse Clinician 3 falls in pay schedule and range 11-01 with a base pay starting at $45.72 to $53.39/hour. Salary is determined as per the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code during hiring. New hires with no prior permanent State of Wisconsin employment in the last 5 years may qualify for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

    To receive the bonus, the candidate must commit to remaining in the position for a year; failing to do so may require reimbursement. This FLSA Exempt position has a 12-month probationary period, and remote work options are unavailable.

    Job Details

    The Department of Corrections will perform criminal background checks and fingerprinting on applicants. Pre-employment drug screenings may also be conducted for certain positions. The State of Wisconsin promotes diversity and equal opportunities in employment.

    Qualifications

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Applicants must hold current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Wisconsin or a Compact state.
