    Description

    The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a bilingual (English/Spanish), dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual needed to join a research team at the University of Southern California to participate in the new trials of using high-efficiency particulate absorbing (HEPA) filtration to potentially help with cardiometabolic health.

    Employment involves (1) contacting potential participants for interest and willingness to participate in the study using electronic medical records; (2) coordinating home visit time with participants and maintain the contact with participants during follow-up; 3) conducting interviews in English and Spanish; 4) setting up air purifiers and air pollution monitors at residential houses, 5) transporting biospecimen and managing sample shipment for laboratory analysis; (6) using REDCap system to track recruitment and follow-up and enter data into databases; and (7) preparing study documents including IRB applications and progress reports and providing project support to the research study and the study staff personnel and faculty investigators. Excellent English and Spanish writing, speaking and communication skills are required. Prior experience in a research environment and participants recruitment and follow-up is required. The candidate needs to have strong organizational capabilities, superb problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends may be needed. Knowledge of REDCap database development and management will be highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in a public health related field is preferred. Licensed phlebotomist is preferred but not required.

    The hourly rate range for this position is $26.94 – $31.77.     Minimum Education: High school or equivalent

    Minimum Experience: 1 year

    Minimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of data collection procedures and some experience with proposal preparation and production of technical documents
